Trip to Canadian Rockies, Banff, Lake Louise, Yoho and Jasper

Bo and I had a trip recently to our Canada's very own Rockies including Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise, Yoho, Jasper, etc. The first trip to Banff for me was about 4 years ago, I went with a group of colleagues, Christine, Sue, Dennis and Russ. This was a business trip in the winter time to meet our long term vendor and partner, Clarity. Although it was winter, I was amazed by the scenery and promised myself come again very soon. 4 years later, I fulfilled my promise. And this time it was even much better. Hard to describe in words, but better in pictures. Hope you enjoy them ! Let me know if you have any questions, email me at hollanfeng@yahoo.com

1. The most famous, Lake Louise

Watch out, Bo! She was stuck at the trail or tried to be heroic ...

Lake Moraine is another famous place but wasn't in its best shape. End of May is still a bit of cold.

2. Town of Banff and surround areas

Banff Fairmont Spring Hotel, a national historical site, a very elegant place too.

Johnston Falls. A hot tourism spot but not too much a bit deal to people living in Ontario or NY area. Too many falls there.

Cascade Pond, right outside of Banff. Note: this is an HDR image merged with 5 exposures.

And lake Minnewanka

Chipmunks at Lake Minnewanka were so brave. (Although we know not to feed wide animals...), they were begging food in an very aggressive way. Take a look at the following picture, Bo is feeding the little feller.

3. Town of Canmore and surrounding areas. It's an actually very attractive and scenic place. Many people missed this place just because they were all heading to Banff, Yoho and Jasper national parks.

Real Estate is quite hot in this area. A single detached home/cottage like the ones in the following picture price ranging from 70k-1M.

 4. Yoho National Park in BC. Emerald Lake is most famous for its emerald like water :-)

Natural Bridge

Cottages on the lake

5. Icefields Parkway, Jasper National Park. It was described as the most scenic parkway in the world. I am not sure if it is the most scenic in the work, but WOW, it was definitely the most scenic experience in my live.

Bow Lake, the origin of Bow River.

Peyto Lake (pronounced as Peetou lake). This is the most amazing view I've even see so far.

Athabasca River and Falls

6. At last, doing some shopping, bringing souvenirs back home.

That's it! People say when it ends, it ends. I was always a bit sad at the end of trips, especially the ones that I really enjoyed. Note: this actually also includes the trip to my dentist, but happy for different reasons :-) If you want to see more pictures of this trip, visit my flickr site: at http://www.flickr.com/photos/haofeng/

Thanks for reading. The End.
